Publishings

Alright, so I have come up with a wonderful idea today. 24hrs publishes daily online... and a lot of the time I cannot make it out to our orange newspaper boxes to pick up my tear sheets. So I thought I would pull the tearsheet off the web and post here. So here it is, the first one of many. ENJOY!

Republic, a bar/restaurant on Granville St. in Vancouver.

Wine, the nectar of the Gods.

How would you like to wear your food? These cuisine inspired outfits designed by local fashion students were displayed in a runway fashion show at the new Capers opening up in Vancouver. Did I mention that I love fashion photography?

When is the best time to teach a kid how to hit in hockey? This little lad, Brandon Ngai knows how.

Bike Team

These biking photos were taken at Stanley Park with my 70- 200. I wish I had a tele-converter.

I received all my tear sheets form the local 11 newspapers that I shot for during the B.C. Provincial Track Meet. Here are a few that ran VERY large in the papers. The top right photo ran on North Vancouver's front page!

Beat the Heat

The "Beat the Heat" summer beach girls.

ITM

I have a little time this morning (5min) to post another posting on my wonderful blog.
These are the ITM model girls who were traveling around Vancouver to different tourist spots as a promotion. Origionally, the pose was in an I T M form, of which would have been really interesting to look at if I was photographing from a building or a plane. There was absolutely no where to get high enough in the park... unless I climbed a tree... so I became the art director and... tried to get some different poses.. but this was all I could grab.

Incase you cannot make out what these girls are touching.... it is a relief artwork that will be put up at various construction sites around Vancouver. It's Art You Can Feel. Quite a concept... getting to touch plastic boobs as you walk by construction sites I had a blast taking these photos; asking random passer-byers to please touch the boobs so they could get into 24hrs newspaper. The top left photo was the one that ran on the front cover. The Art You Can Feel Project includes other relief works as well.

Cirque !!!

OH yes!

VAREKAI was the best form of circus gymnastics I have ever seen! Cirque de Soleil is amazing.. I would think working as a gymnast all you life would be a pretty awesome
job. That would be if I were flexible. Unfortunately, all I can do is put my photographic skills into play and try and capture crisp photos of movement at a 30th of a second. No flash allowed my friends... only ISO 1600 (thank you Canon) and a 2.8 to 1.8 range in f-stop.

If any of you ever get to see this show live... please do! It is absolutely amazing!

World Cup Clothes.

Ah yes the World Cup!! Talk about crazy fans with very expensive multicoloured clothing. This is an older shoot but what can i say, im very slow at updating whats been going on in my photographic life. WHOOT World Cup!!!

The boys, Ryan Lucier in black and Ryan Anderson in white from the Debbie Travis show. These two are headed back to Toronto this week to find out who will be the winner of the 250,000 dollar prize.

These again were for the front of the 24hrs Peek section of the newspaper. We ended up heading out to a store called Jorg and Olif on West 6th and about Yukon in Vancouver. This store has crazy bikes from Holland ranging from 800 to 2000 dollars.
